Scholarships

Every year, the Oklahoma City Chapter of AWC awards between $5,000 and $8,000 in scholarships with funds generated from our annual Byliners event. We are excited to help fund college scholarships for Oklahoma women pursuing communication-related degrees. Scholarship selection will be based on aptitude, interest in a communication-related career, academic performance, financial need and demonstration of community service. The application deadline is Monday, March 22. Winners will be presented their scholarship at the AWC’s annual Bosses Breakfast scheduled for Tuesday, April 13. Internships

Get a head start on your career in communications by doing an internship. Gain valuable knowledge and “real world” experience, along with college credit by interning during your spring, fall or summer semester. Check here periodically for a listing of available internships.

AWC Professional Meetings

The Association for Women in Communications meets the second Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the Will Rogers Theatre in Oklahoma City. The lunch program features a guest speaker with topics ranging from crisis communications to better time management. Cost is $15 for AWC National Student Members. Free parking is located behind the event center.
